For those of you not in the “know” a boppie is a pacifier. Lia, my daughter, was addicted to them as a baby and toddler. Well, to be honest, I was addicted to them because they sure calmed her down. Lia called them “pi’s”, like the mathematical term.
At some point, I was able to get her down to only using them at night or in the car. But it took my friend Joan to totally get her off.
Not surprisingly, our granddaughter Ava, is also addicted to pacifiers, which she calls boppies (rhymes with poppies). Lia has worked like the dickens to get her down to only using them at night or in the car. Rowan is more indifferent, although he indulges at night.
Patricia, who is the children’s nanny, did a major clean up while the Carney family is in Costa Rica.
And guess what she found, under beds, chairs, tables, dressers, etc? Seventeen Boppies!
We’re home on Tuesday after a welcome three days in Tucson visiting my sister-in-law, Brenda. We definitely need a VACATION.
