I still get a little shock every time I see a modern, interesting interior from a country in Eastern Europe. I remain amazed although I know full well that my shock and amazement are merely due to the fact that I grew up in an era where Eastern Europe was synonymous with drab and dull.
I’m not sure when — if ever — I will get used to seeing these fabulous buildings and interiors. Take a look.
The first is a pastry shop in Kiev, the second and third are apartments in Poland. I found these from two of my favorite design blogs, Design Milk and Contemporist.
I think it is just a coincidence that all three interiors feature such bright colors, but it might just be that after so many years of drab and dingy, bright colors are a hallmark of Eastern European interior design. I’m going to keep looking. . .
