I’ve been blogging June 2013! Amazing, actually. That’s 20 months.
One of the best things about blogging is the people I’ve encountered. I can’t say “met”, because in fact, except for cyberspace, we’ve never actually seen each other.
One found me via this blog and three are from blogs I read. The women behind the blogs are new to me. All four women are interesting, have unique voices, are fabulous writers, and share many of my interests — and curiosity about things. Also somewhat coincidently, two of them have serious illnesses.
Here they are:
Albie Davis. Albie contacted me because she is a fan and scholar of Mary Parker Follett. There is some magical/technological way to tell your computer to send you a note when someone posts about a topic that interests you. That’s how Albie found me.
She is a mediator and the former Director of Mediation, District Court, Trial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We also share an interest in the Group of Seven artists, and both have messy desks. I know that because she shared a photo of hers and I sent her a photo of mine. That’s like being naked in the shower room in junior high school. You only share photos of your messy desk with people you truly trust. (And don’t worry, no photos here.)
Then there are three bloggers that I think you should all know about. The first is Eleanor O’Connell from Have Some Decorum. WHAT AN AMAZING WOMAN! Funny, irreverent, courageous (she has ALS), interesting with a capital “I”, lives in France, has great taste, is a thinker and a doer and takes nothing for granted. I read every single word in her posts.
Second is Raina Cox and her fabulous blog, If the Lampshade Fits. Her posts are short and sweet. She is also irreverent (I think I see a pattern here), smart, funny, and sees the world through a special lens. I mean, the name of the blog says it all. She stopped blogging for a while, but has recently started up again and I am thrilled.
Third is Lyn Slater and a very new blog for me, Accidental Icon. What an eye she has for clothes, and accessories! Wow oh Wow. Here’s some samples.
And she can write.
