I’m feeling lucky this week. I already have two ideas for posts. This is a good thing, since I am driving to Canada on Saturday morning for a mini reunion with two close friends, Cilla and Rosie. I’ve known them both since our days at the University of Birmingham (that’s England, folks) when I was there for one year in 1964-65. We became close friends and have stayed close all these years . . . um . . . almost 50!
Rosie, who lives in London, is flying in for a week to visit Cilla, who lives in a rural area outside of Toronto. I’m driving up from here. VERY excited!!
But, it means doing a blog post early — hence the excitement of having two ideas already (and it’s only Wednesday), since sometimes inspiration doesn’t hit until Saturday morning.
I not only love this fixture because of the way it looks, but because it was inspired by one of my favorite things of all time, the slinky toy. Now it is possible that there is someone reading this blog who doesn’t know what a slinky toy is, so for that small minority, here’s a photo.
Not sure I see the inspiration so well, but it sure is a gorgeous light fixture.
Even though we didn’t live in a two-story house, I loved to let the slinky run down the short flight of stairs into our back yard. What a great toy. STILL love it (as does Mr. Not So Curious). My daughter and son-in-law live in a two-story house, so get ready, Ava and Rowan.
The other thing that this gorgeous light fixture reminds me of is my fabulous necklace from the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) store that my friend, Cheryl, gave me.
So much fun to see all these links.
And P.S., we bought the fractional share of the house in Mirabel aux Baronnie. More to come . . .
