A friend of mine and I spent some time recently going through her closet and doing a “purge”. Along the way, we had a discussion about pant lengths. Where do you draw the line? At the ankle? Above the ankle? Below the ankle? Does it depend on the type of pants? Does it depend on your height?
And then, what kind of shoes do you wear? Does it depend on the pant length? Or the pant type?
And how crazy are you supposed to get? Is there a subgroup of the Fashion Police? The Pant Length Police?
But in all seriousness (assuming you can be serious about pant lengths) I started to look through some of the photos I’ve saved that feature different pant types and different pant lengths.
These two photos are from Advanced Style. Sometimes the outfits that are featured on AS are a bit outlandish, but the ones above are just plain classic.
These three photos show women who are wearing their loose or bootcut pants with heels, rather than flat shoes. Shoes with a little height are very nice with wider legged pants. Not that I could ever wear those very high heels from the photo, but I love the proportion.
I’m also a believer in flats or very low heels if the pants are ankle length or very narrow.
These last two photos are from one of my favorite blogs, Simply Luxurious Life.
