One of the benefits of blogging is that I get to look at a lot of photos of interiors and architecture. I am learning more and more about what I like and what I don’t like. After all these years, I am refining my “eye”. Another benefit of blogging.
And one of the things I have learned is that I don’t like black and white rooms. It doesn’t matter if they are modern or traditional, they always look boring. And it turns out, I don’t like very colorful rooms, either. More about that in another post.
Here are two examples of what I don’t like:
And now for “Just Right”. Sounds like the Three Bears, doesn’t it?
I LOVE windows framed in black! Who knew? There is something about these windows that are crisp and clean and frame the view. It was only as I started to look at hundreds, maybe thousands of pictures of interiors, did I recognize a pattern.
These are some photos of black framed windows that are “just right”.
Ok, so this room is black and white (and a lotta green).
I saved one of my favorites for last. This is a house in Croatia from the blog 2Modern. So interesting and inventive. As some of you know, I spent three weeks in Serbia in 2003 and have a very soft spot for the Balkans.
Do videnja, all. (That’s good bye in Serbo-Croatian, by the way)
