And it sure isn’t subtle.
In the first episode, one of the lead characters is just about to be introduced to his fellow team members. Instead of letting his story unfold deliberately and slowly, each member of the team makes a statement back to him (and us) about who he is, why he has an injured arm, where he worked, when he did things, etc. Lots of fancy stuff as the camera jumps from one character to the other. They not only already know who he is, they work very hard to make sure that we, the audience, do too. No letting us find out about him, using acting and story line.
Talk about getting beaten over the head.
